Salt Ash Fitness runs one-on-one personal training and outdoor group classes at Freshwater Beach. Ashley needed a site she could edit herself, that would grow with the business, and that worked properly on a phone.
Background
When we started, the site was hand-coded static HTML. Every new timetable, package or announcement meant finding a developer, which meant most of it never got updated.
What I did
I rebuilt the site on WordPress, keeping the look Ashley liked and making everything behind it editable. Timetables, packages, the mission page, the coming-soon section: all hers to change. The layout adapts to phones and tablets, where most of her clients book from.
Outcome
Ashley now runs the site herself, and the online offering has grown well beyond what the old site could hold.
The irony of a static-to-WordPress case study on a site I have since rebuilt as static HTML is not lost on me. The right tool depends on who needs to edit what, and how often. Ashley edits weekly. I edit this site a few times a year, and I would rather it loaded in a blink. Here is how I build websites now, and why yours can be free.
